Credit rating is dependent on your credit history. Good credit rating used to be enough to qualify you for just about any type of credit line you might need. But in these times, with many of the large creditors recovering from a credit market breakdown, even those who have what was once considered a good credit rating aren't even considered good credit risks. After all, a large portion of recent credit delinquencies have come from this population. Only those with great credit ratings are still able to obtain credit easily at affordable interest rates.
